Legendia Review - 2022

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

For my last big trip of the year, we flew out to Kraków to visit Energylandia and Legendia and pick up a +20! Legendia is located in central Katowice, a city just an hour's drive from Kraków. With it's location, I would have expected this park to feel more suburban, but they managed a cute 'magical' atmosphere very well.

Lech coaster is an incredible Vekoma Bermuda Blitz that opened in 2017 with the park's retheme. It had a beautiful station and the prettiest detailed trains with comfy restraints. The intensity was quite impressive, especially with contrast between it and the graceful, smooth inversions. I ended up ranking it at no 9 in my top 10, just behind Kondaa.

Bazylisek is Legendia's new trackless dark ride. It only had 4 ride vehicles but for a park with so little visitors, a very high throughput isn't the most necessary. However, some of the theming in the scenes felt a little cheap like the 'jump scare' snake face and 3D printed replacement guns. Regardless, this ride is such high standard for a park as small as Legendia and I hope they continue this positive route of investment over the next few years.

One of the other coasters was Diabelska Pętla, a Soquet double-looper. This coaster has been at both Lightwater Valley and American Adventure before it got moved to Poland in 2007. It's definitely become a bit rough after all those relocations but it was very enjoyable, especially in the backwards row on the last car. Dream Hunter's Society is the park's last operating coaster which for a non-inverting Zyklon, was very enjoyable. They also have a similar Zyklon called Scary Toys Factory which is currently sbno.

Dolina Jagi is a new for 2020 Hafema rapids next to Lech Coaster. It had really fun water effects as well as some landscaping theming but I think could've done with a bit more decoration. Still on the higher end of the scale of rapids I've been on 😂. Diamond River is the other main water ride which had stunning theming! all the cute little gnomes around the layout reminded me a bit of Fairytale Brook at Legoland, it looked great!

The atmosphere of the park felt a little mismatched. We went on the last day of their season so all their lights and decorations for their Christmas event were being set up, but none of them were on. You could tell the park had had the refresh it did in 2017 to bring in the 'Legendia branding and theming, but this wasn't as obvious at the front of the park where their lineup consisted of a bunch of travelling flat rides and 2 non-inverting zyklons. Overall I had a fabulous day at Legendia; bumping into loads of British enthusiasts in another country isn't something that happens every day 😭. I think the park could definitely do with a bit more investment but everything that's been put in over the past few years has been very good. I'd love a well themed family coaster near Diamond River, like a Vekoma junior boomerang or family coaster.

Have you been to Poland? What did you think of their theme parks? Thank you so much for reading, I'll see you next time!
