I was fortunate enough to be able to get on a UK road trip in 2020 and visit many new parks: Oakwood, flamingo land and adventure island as well as visiting many parks I had been to before. We visited Adventure Island on one of the last days of our trip, and it was very enjoyable. The park had a very fairground style atmosphere as the park had little theming and was on a very flat, cramped area of land on the seafront.
The signature ride of the park was rage, a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. It has a very nice, compact layout and features 3 inversions - a vertical loop, a cutback and a heartline roll and has a 97 degree drop.
The park has 4 other coasters: Barnstormer, Green Scream, Kiddi Koasta and Mini Mighty Mega. The smallest of these was Kiddi Koasta, located on the roof of a storage room. Barnstormer had nice set pieces and a themed train and was my favourite of the other coasters.
Time machine is a custom flat ride manufactured and built by the park. It is one of the most interesting and amusing flat rides that I have ever been on, although it is quite rough and very uncomfortable. A better flat ride (possibly my favourite flat ride I've ever been on!) is Axis. an SBF Visa Group ride, like an Intamin gyroswing. It reaches a height of 30.7 feet and has beautiful views of the rest of the park and the beach
In terms of dark rides and water rides, there was 2 dark rides: Adventureville and Over The Hill 2: Spooksville and 1 water ride: tidal wave - 3 water slides. Tidal wave had a very long queue up a compact stairwell and was enjoyable but quite short. I got wet enough it was a worthy water ride but did not soak you so we could get dry. The dark rides weren't scary, but were very fun. Adventureville was a train style ride you go round twice, with the second having disco lights.
I had a very fun day it adventure island, the staff were very energetic and really nice and the park was open till 10 pm. The park doesn't have enough rides to spend all day at, we got multiple re-rides on all the rides and only stayed till 4! I'd say the park is only a half day trip if you want to go on everything once but you can spend a while there getting re-rides There were very short queues on all the rides, although people weren't very good at social distancing and wearing masks as they weren't mandatory. I look forward to hopefully visiting this park again next season and can't wait to see what investments they make in the future, especially as they just installed my favourite ride on park, Axis! Overall, I would give the park a rating of 3.5/5
