Tulley's Escape Rooms Review - 2022

Seeing as it is still months until Tulley's Shocktoberfest and I dreadfully miss it, We headed down to Crawley to visit Tulley's Escape Rooms! This location has 5 rooms and 2 games, ranging from level 1 to level 5 difficulty. We did The Outfitters, an escape room set in Chicago, during the American depression.

Theming

The theming in this maze was incredible! It felt like Disney pre-show level design, with no spot of any room feeling out of place. It also helped the interactive nature of this being an escape room, as it was harder to tell what was put in specifically as a puzzle and what is theming. In comparison to other mazes I've done, this was more difficult for that reason. I think the card desk or the light up alcohol barrels in the last room.

So many things contributed to the atmosphere of the room from the lighting to the scent pods to the audio playing. Even the different levels of the rooms, with some being higher than others with steps down into them. I just loved every part of the design!

Puzzles

Because this room was 2-8 players, it features a large amount of puzzles, but also had multiple that could be done at the same time. I really liked this as it encourages you to work with different people in your group, but also means you have the opportunity to work on your own and use your findings along with others from your group to proceed. The games and puzzles were a variety of types, from physical games and mental puzzles involving numbers. Some were more difficult than others, but there was enough variety in difficulty it could be played by any older family (I'd say ages like 10+ ?)

Overall, we had an incredible experience! The staff were so nice, the entry was so simple and for the experience it was well worth the money. (There was even a cat at the sign in desk!) I would love to visit again in a few months to try a different room as they seem to vary so much in story and design! They also have another location if it is a bit far.

Have you ever visited an escape room? What was it like? Thank you so much for reading, I'll see you next time!
